Vector MultiPlay MCR is a software-based automation solution designed to expertly manage the most demanding broadcast environments. Early checking of events with configurable horizons, time-stamped "takes", offsets to compensate for any kind of latencies and communication delays, live & time delay events, automatic filling with emergency material, clips categorization, interactive real time catalogue, etc. provide robust playout capabilities. The flexible playlist's user interface not only allows the user to configure columns width and order but also to add the metadata of the clips as new columns.

The active object-oriented catalogue contains all the resources (videos, graphics, lists of crosspoints, special lines, etc.) and puts them at the operator's fingertips. When material arrives via LAN, real-time catalogue updating is essential. Vector Multi-Play MCR displays the current status and length of events being copied or remotely recorded, commercial playlist blocks can be changed on the fly from traffic systems; and what is shown is not speculative database output but real-time information coming directly from the real data source.

The configurable countdown clocks and thorough warnings system mean the overall operational picture can be assessed at first glance. Gaps, overlaps and glitches in the future playlist, which can create difficulties if not properly managed in advance, are flagged. In addition, the operator has the option of manually control all resources (VTRs, video servers, routers, etc.) from the same user interface.

The MultiPlay MCR device server technology is fluent in all protocols, languages and dialects and thus able to communicate and control any device in the master control room whether it be modern technology or legacy systems. The device server seamlessly communicates via time-stamped commands automated routines ensuring all devices are operating in harmony and without failure.

And last but not least, Vector MultiPlay MCR has a surprising feature: when installed in a LAN, in case the hardware goes down, it revives in another machine and continues transmission seamlessly. This is part of the swarm strategy of survival that is in the core of the MultiPlay redundancy concept.
